Funding Support for Students
South West College is pleased to offer a suite of Electric/Hybrid courses delivered across the academic year. Students may enter this exciting sector beginning with this IMI Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities. On completion of the Level 2 course students may progress onto IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement.
Successful students may progress onto IMI Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components.
Each level is completed in 6 calendar weeks. It is possible to complete all 3 courses within an academic year beginning in September 2025 and completing in March 2026. Please check the website links for each course start date.
This course is for those who have an interest in gaining the knowledge to work safely when carrying out routine maintenance activities on Electric/Hybrid vehicles. It is designed for those people who may encounter electric/hybrid vehicles within a routine maintenance situation. It also contains the knowledge and skills required to work safely around a vehicle that may have had damage to its high energy/electric system.
