A new Fibre Optic Installer Academy, funded through the Department for the Economy's Skills Intervention Programme, will be delivered by South West College, starting in April. The programme has been created as part of the Government's response to COVID-19 recovery for the economy.

Orla Coyle from Greencastle recently completed a Foundation Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at South West College, Omagh, graduating in 2020 with a distinction grade and was awarded a number of scholarships and bursaries that helped pay off her tuition fees within the first year of her studies.

The Campus is shortlisted for the Favourite Building at the BREEAM 2021 awards and is the only building on the island of Ireland to be included on the shortlist.

This prestigious award is a recognition of the achievement and ambition of higher technicians in the civil engineering industry.

It is open to all eligible students across the Northern Ireland Region of the ICE and applicants are required to complete a very comprehensive application form, focussing on academic achievement, industrial experience and most importantly career aspirations.

The course will offer a progression opportunity for Level 3 students to continue their culinary education and offer professional chefs working in the catering and hospitality industry the opportunity to update their skills and prepare for future management positions.
