Enniskillen's public art has been the inspiration for the creative media students of South West College, who are set to showcase their creativity via film with a ticket-only event at the Ardhowen Theatre on Thursday, May 25th, 2023, at 8 pm.

Commissioned by the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, second-year BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma creative media students combined their expertise to produce a creative campaign responding to public art within Enniskillen town. Jody O’Donnell, Luke Kavanagh, Ethan Crozier, Caitlyn McLoughlin, Lewis Kilpatrick, and Aaron Leonard joined forces to produce the chosen films in two categories, factual and fictional, that aims to complement Enniskillen’s public artwork.

On the night, chosen work will be screened, and there will also be a live performance inspired by the local artwork from Charlotte McGuigan, who is a performing arts practice student at the College.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Ian Blackford, Creative Media tutor at the College, said:

"The Art of Enniskillen” presents an opportunity for the wider community to experience the talent of these students and for public art to be experienced in new and exciting ways.

This project highlights South West College’s mission to nurture talent and creativity while remaining responsive to the needs of local communities. South West College is proud to present this showcase and share the art of Enniskillen with the local community.

Film has the power to transport us to different worlds, challenge our perspectives, and leave lasting impressions on our lives. I am excited to see their creativity and passion on full display at this showcase event, and I would encourage others to come along and experience ‘The Art of Enniskillen’s Creative Media Showcase.”
