Student Eoghán Harkin from South West College achieves first class honours in Cinematic Arts from Ulster University

South West College is proud to announce the success of one of its Creative Media Production students, Eoghán Harkin, who recently achieved a first-class honour’s in Cinematic Arts from Ulster University. Eoghán's hard work and dedication to his studies have paid off as he produced Ulster University's Best Short Film Project of 2021, "Sheltered".

Eoghán started his journey with South West College, where he studied Creative Media Production and Foundation Degree in Digital Arts and Technologies. He then continued his studies at Ulster University to top up his foundation degree to a BA in Cinematic Arts. Eoghán's passion for film production and his strong work ethic allowed him to excel in his studies, culminating in the production of "Sheltered," a powerful short film that has gained critical acclaim in the film industry.

Since leaving university, Eoghán has secured an internship with Stultify Media and ITV production company Boom Cymru, where he is now a trainee researcher. Eoghán's success story is an inspiration to aspiring film producers and filmmakers everywhere, and his hard work and dedication have made him a valuable asset to the industry.

"I'm extremely grateful for the opportunities that South West College and Ulster University have given me," Eoghán said. "My studies have given me the skills and knowledge I need to pursue a successful career in the film industry, and I'm excited to see where my journey takes me next.
