Northern Ireland Enhanced Investment Zone (EIZ)

The EIZ programme has been approved by UK Government Ministers and the Northern Ireland Executive and is now moved from programme approval into delivery.

The programme is led by the Department for the Economy (DfE), working closely with the DfE Skills and Education Group (SEG) and Invest NI (INI) as key delivery partners.

EIZ interventions are being developed and delivered across four core themes: Business Support, Research & Innovation, Infrastructure and Skills. Interventions will be open to eligible Advanced Manufacturing companies across the whole of Northern Ireland. Delivery partners are working closely with industry, academia, and other stakeholders to ensure interventions demonstrate support for our priority sector and clusters and deliver economic impact across Northern Ireland.

The EIZ will also support the delivery of the Minister’s economic priorities, including the creation of good jobs, improved regional balance and increased productivity.

A number of high‑potential projects have been identified, and the EIZ team continues to engage with private‑sector partners to shape and refine these proposals.
