Overview

This Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plastering qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment. This means you need to be employed to study this qualification. The course has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work as a plasterer within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.

You will be able to demonstrate that you are competent against a set of performance statements. You will learn key practical skills and knowledge in the following areas: Health and Safety in the Workplace, Producing Complex Internal Solid Plastering, Producing Complex External Rendering Finishes, Producing Complex Plasterwork Moulds in the Workplace, Installing Complex Fibrous Plaster Components, Running In-situ Mouldings in the Workplace.

The minimum age requirement for this qualification is 16 plus. However it is necessary for applicants to have achieved the Level 2 qualification in Plastering or have substantial industrial experience in this area.

Achievement of this qualification will be assessed via a combination of knowledge testing and practical assessments. Practical assessments will be assessed on work based evidence and direct observation in the workplace.

Achievement of this qualification will enable the learner to follow a career in their chosen field of plastering. On completion students can progress onto Higher Education qualifications such as Level 4/5 Foundation Degree programmes.

You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C or Level 2 Essential Skills in English, Maths and Information Technology.
