This Level 1 NVQ Certificate in Customer Service course will appeal to students that are interested in the area of Customer Service. It aims to provide you with a basic knowledge and understanding of dealing with customers.
This course provides the first step towards a career interacting with customers and developing the basic elements that are needed to enable you to work on a range of practical skills in a real working environment. Units studied include, Communicate using customer service language, Follow the rules to deliver customer service, Deal with customers face to face, Communicate effectively with customers and Do your job in a customer friendly way.
No formal entry requirements, however students will be asked to undertake an initial assessment and informal interview.
The course is assessed through portfolio building, group work, questioning, observation and work placement.
On completion students can progress onto the Level 2 in Retail Skills, L2 Certificate in Retail Knowledge or Employment. These courses will further develop your knowledge and understanding of the retail industry.
You will be expected to secure a work placement in a retail or business based environment, such as local supermarkets, businesses or larger retailers. Where needed additional support from the Learning Mentor and Disability Action is also available to support your transition through the course. You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C or Level 2 Essential Skills in English, Maths and Information Technology. You will also study broader transferable skills in Employability and Personal and Social Development.
