The Erne Campus will be the first educational building and largest in the world to achieve the Passive House Premium status and the BREEAM Outstanding certification for sustainable design. The campus will open its doors to students for the first time in September 2021 and will offer world class teaching and learning facilities, ensuring that students are equipped with the skills to make an immediate impact in industry not just locally, but globally. The Campus has been designed to make significant cost savings in energy usage and will lead the way in the design and construction of educational buildings throughout the world for decades to come.

The Centre for Renewable Energy & Sustainable Technologies provides support and assistance for the renewable energy, sustainability, environmental and construction industries The CREST Passive Pavillion in Enniskillen is one of the most sustainable buildings in the UK and Ireland meeting Passive House, BREEAM Excellent and Carbon Neutral building standards. The CREST R & D laboratory hosts a range of new laboratory testing equipment to service the biogas and biomass industries with the ability to manufacture and test biomass products.
