What does it mean to be a Higher Level Apprentice?

A higher Level apprenticeship is a combination of working and studying higher education (post A-Level or BTEC). By choosing the HLA option you immediately enter the world of work and gain valuable on-the-job experience while earning a salary as you study. You will not pay any tuition fees and you will make industry contacts from day one.

Who do they suit?

They are designed for someone who wants to achieve a higher education qualification i.e. Foundation Degree/ Degree but prefer to get straight into work so that they can build their skills and knowledge gap whilst studying and achieving their higher education qualification.

What are the benefits of HLA's?

By taking part in a Higher Level Apprenticeship, you can gain the skills that employers need and that are relevant to the local economy, therefore improving your prospects of good earnings and sustained employment

How long does a HLA take?

A Higher Level Apprenticeship can take from two to three years to complete depending on the subject area.
