Funding Support for Students
This qualification will help you to develop your skills further, perhaps to become a specialist chef or move into a management role. It is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in higher education and/or employment in this globally and economically important sector.
If you choose the level 3 Certificate in General Patisserie and Confectionary you will develop upon the vital skills required by a patisserie chef.
Level 2 Certificate in Patisserie and Confectionery and/or Level 2 / 3 NVQ Professional Cookery. Places are subject to individual interview (telephone / on-line).
These units are assessed in a simulated professional kitchen in each of the SWC campuses. For each unit your assessor watches and asks questions as you perform a task, or looks at a portfolio of work that you've built as formal evidence of your learning. Then they confirm you've got the skills to do the job well.
This qualification can help you to progress in your career as a pastry chef. On completion of this qualification candidates may progress into employment or to other advanced qualifications:
