Funding Support for Students
This qualification meets the needs of learners who want to work front of house within a hospitality environment. It is also for those learners that want a rounded knowledge of both front of house and the kitchen, which will enable them to look at more senior positions in the future. The qualification covers all aspects of food and beverage service. It will deliver the key skills required by the learner to ensure they will have a thorough understanding of the role and expectations that any future employer will expect of them.
1 Mandatory Unit-Food and beverage service skills
There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification. However it is suitable if you are working in the industry and would like to gain additional training and a qualification.
This unit is assessed in a simulated public restaurant in each of the SWC campuses. For the unit your assessor watches and asks questions as you perform a task, or looks at a portfolio of work that you've built as formal evidence of your learning. Then they confirm you've got the skills to do the job well.
On successful completion of this qualification learners can look to progress onto more senior supervisory qualifications such as the: Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership (NVQ)
