Ideal for those looking to become professional pastry chefs or for those wanting to progress in their careers, for individuals who enjoy this area of cookery as a hobby and for those employees looking to further their knowledge and skills in this area.
4 Mandatory Units-Produce hot and cold desserts and puddings · Produce paste products · Produce biscuit, cake and sponge products · Produce fermented dough products.
This level will suit those with little or no experience in pastry and confectionery. Places are subject to individual interview (telephone / on-line).
To gain an Award the candidate must successfully complete all five practical assignments and the oral questions
This qualification can help you to progress in your career as a pastry chef. On completion of this qualification candidates may progress into employment or to the following City & Guilds qualifications: Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cookery Or if you already hold the above qualification Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cooker.
