The curriculum progresses from a basic introduction to more specific topics like the regulatory landscape and the practical application of carbon accounting. You will learn how to:

  • Understand climate change and carbon's role: You'll be introduced to the causes and impacts of greenhouse gases, the carbon cycle, and what a carbon footprint is.
  • Navigate the regulatory landscape: The course covers the drivers for net zero, as well as local and national regulations related to climate change.
  • Measure and verify emissions: You'll learn how to define an organisation's boundaries, collect data, and calculate carbon emissions for a GHG inventory.
  • Apply carbon accounting principles: The course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to apply carbon accounting principles in real-world scenarios.

The course materials are structured to guide you through these topics, starting from the ground up, making it accessible even if you don't have prior experience in environmental management or carbon accounting.
