Funding Support for Students
The OCN NI Level 3 Award in Working with Children and Young People with Special Needs is designed to provide the practitioner with the skills and knowledge required to enable them to work effectively with children and young people with special needs. This course is delivered blended with 5 weeks face-to-face / 5 weeks online.
There will be 5 learning outcomes covered, as follows:
1- Understand special needs.
2 - Understand factors which affect learning.
3 - Understand how to support individuals with special needs.
4 - Understand the roles and responsibilities of professionals working in the special needs area.
5 - Understand the principles and practice of advocacy.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course, though learners are expected to have an interest in working with children and young people with special educational requirements.
Students will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the learning outcomes
