Funding Support for Students
Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is for learners commencing or developing a career in the motor industry. This practical qualification demonstrates their skills in removing and replacing parts competently on light vehicles.
You will be able to remove and replace parts and components from light vehicles. You will also be able to service light vehicles.
GCSE Maths at Grade D or above and GCSE English at Grade E or above.
This qualification is assessed through a portfolio of evidence and online multiple choice tests. Practical abilities will be assessed in the workplace.
Successful learners will progress to Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship NI. In addition, learners could also progress into employment as a fitter in maintenance and repair.
Learners will be placed in a garage and attend college two days per week. You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT at level 2 if you do not have a GCSE grade C in these subjects. You will also study broader transferable skills in Employability and Personal and Social Development where appropriate.
