Overview

The Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair covers complex faults in lorries and coaches. Learners will be taught how to diagnose faults using the correct diagnostic procedure. This qualification is recognised in over 300 countries. Learners will gain status as a fully qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.

: You will be able to inspect, test and diagnose faults on a range of heavy vehicles. You will gain skills to meet and deal with customers in a professional manner, manage your own time and keep appropriate records.

: Learners must be currently working within the Motor Vehicle Industry. Learners without formal qualifications but with five years' experience may be accepted on the course by interview.

: The units will be assessed by the gathering of work-based evidence into a portfolio. The authenticity, sufficiency and validity of the evidence will be judged by the assessor. There are also online tests which require a pass mark of 60%.

This course leads directly to a career in the Automotive Industry or progression can be to the Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Automotive Diagnostic Techniques or a Level 5 Foundation Degree in an engineering discipline.
