Funding Support for Students
This course is suited to students interested in developing the expertise to provide the relaxing and stress relieving treatment of massage using hot and colds stones. Students will be trained in a realistic working environment in the college’s state of art salons. Students will experience the normal day to day running of a beauty salon and will engage with customers. This will ensure students are ready to begin an exciting journey within the beauty industry and will open various pathways for progression.
The course combines a large proportion of practical learning with relevant anatomy and knowledge of the legislation required when carrying out this treatment. You will learn how to carry out the recognised techniques, involving the fusion of heat, coolness, massage and balancing of energies, with skill and confidence. The assessment and implementation of meeting individual client needs is also covered.
NVQ Level 3 Award in Body Massage or equivalent certificate.
A combination of practical observations and on-line theory tests are used to assess this qualification.
Students who successfully complete this unit can progress to a range of industry relevant courses including Complimentary Therapies or Sports Massage. Students will also be eligible to enter into employment in Beauty Salons or Spa Industries.
This course is scheduled one evening over 16 weeks. Students will be required to purchase a uniform upon commencement of the programme.
