South West College has launched its 2026 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Prospectus, providing prospective students with detailed information on the wide range of support services available, alongside the wider curriculum provision.

SWC is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every learner is valued and given the opportunity to thrive. The new prospectus outlines the comprehensive support available to students, including one-to-one learning assistance, assistive technology, accessible facilities and wellbeing services, ensuring students are fully supported to achieve their potential.

The prospectus also highlights the College’s broader curriculum offer, with a range of pathways designed to meet individual goals. These include discrete SEN programmes focused on entry and progression, with opportunities to advance to foundation and entry-level courses.

Learners can develop essential skills in literacy, numeracy, teamwork and independence, alongside vocational pathways in areas such as Business, Health and Social Care, Engineering, Creative Arts, Hospitality and Sport, equipping them with the skills, knowledge and experience employers value and supporting progression into further study, training and employment.

In delivering this support, SWC works in partnership with key agencies including the Health and Social Care Trusts, the Education Authority, schools and other relevant stakeholders. The College’s goal is to ensure every learner feels safe, included and empowered to achieve their full potential.

Celine McCartan Principal and Chief Executive at SWC said:

“At SWC we are committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all students. We believe every learner has the potential to succeed.

“Our aim is to ensure that every student — regardless of learning need, ability, or background — has access to the support, encouragement, and opportunities they need to achieve their goals. We are proud of our inclusive community, where every individual is valued and supported to reach their full potential.

“Our most recent Student Survey demonstrated a high satisfaction rate, and many learners progress to employment or further studies, reflecting our commitment to educating and training the workforce of the future.

“Whether you are joining us from school, returning to education, or exploring a new pathway, our dedicated Learning Support Team is here to make your transition to college as smooth and positive as possible.”
