Many new technologies are being utilised such as 3-D printing and additive manufacturing in a wide range of industries to produce functional products for consumer use. These technologies require the ability to take a design and create a 3-D computer based model. Such models can then be used via the 3-D printing machines to produce a prototype and/or real functional components.
