Funding Support for Students
The one-year course covers a wide range of areas relating to the skills and knowledge required for preparing to work in the Barbering Industry. Students will incorporate College study with work placement to understand the rigours of running a barbering business. Work placement is an integral part of the course. This course is also available as an Apprenticeship.

Applicants are required to hold a minimum of a Level 1 qualification which is 4 GCSEs at Grades D-G. For this programme, this should include Maths Grade D and English Grade D. Applicants who do not meet this enhanced entry criteria can still apply and will enter an introductory phase of the traineeship. Upon enrolment the applicant will undertake an initial assessment which will confirm whether they should enter the full Traineeship or the Introductory Phase.
A combination of practical observation, assessment and on-line theory tests are used to assess this qualification.
Achievement of this qualification provides opportunities to progress to further qualifications at Level 3. This qualification offers employment opportunities for learners demonstrating occupational competence.
Students will be required to purchase a uniform and kit upon commencement of the programme.
