Funding Support for Students
This course is suited to students interested in learning the skills to become an aromatherapist. The course covers the theory and practical application of aromatherapy. You will gain knowledge in 40 essential oils, 18 carrier oils, as well making products. Students will be trained in a realistic working environment in the college’s state of art salons. Students will experience the commercial salon and will engage with customers.
Where applicable this qualification will develop your knowledge and understanding of the principles and business practice for complementary therapies. Furthermore, you will learn about anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies. You will also develop your understanding and practical skills to competently provide aromatherapy massage treatment.
A Level 3 qualification in Massage or equivalent is desirable.
A combination of practical observations, 60 case histories, written and an on-line theory test are used to assess this qualification.
Students who successfully complete this course can enrol in other Complementary Therapy courses. Students will also be eligible to enter into employment in Beauty Salons, Health Clinic or Spa setting.
This course will be delivered and assessed in one year.
Students will be required to purchase a uniform and kit on commencement of the programme.
