Funding Support for Students
This Level 2 Traineeship Diploma takes you through a variety of exciting units, that provide you with the basic foundation needed to help you progress your learning to the next stage. This course consists of a compulsory unit (Introducing Media Products) and five optional units including: Animation Production; Photography for Media Products; TV & Film Production; Planning & Producing a Media Product.
You will also be given the opportunity to improve your employability and personal development skills through work experience/simulation and achieve a transversal skills qualification.
You must hold a minimum of a Level 1 qualification, defined as four GCSEs at grades D to G including Maths and English grades D to E, or equivalent.
Entry is subject to an interview with course co-ordinator.
You’ll be assessed throughout the year and you’ll be expected to complete a range of assignments on an ongoing basis. This includes the production of practical projects with accompanying portfolios and written work. Units are delivered by coursework, which is internally assessed and externally moderated. There are no exams.
Achievement of the Full NI Traineeship Diploma
Those that complete the qualifications comparable to five GCSEs at Grade C passes including English (or Communications Level 2) and Maths (or Application of Number Level 2) will receive an overarching NI Traineeship Diploma issued by the Department for the Economy.
Partial Achievement
Trainees who do not achieve all of the components will be recognised for partial achievement. This may mean that the trainee passes the professional & technical qualification but does not achieve Level 2 Communication or Level 2 Numeracy. Trainees who have partial achievement may be able to progress to FE Level 3.
Successful learners have the opportunity to progress onto Level 3 Creative Media Production, Games Design, Art & Design and Performing Arts or to another suitable Level 3 course.
