Overview

The OCN NI Level 2 Certificate and Diploma in Retail Knowledge qualifications are designed to develop the knowledge of those who are working or wish to work in the retail sector

This programme includes the following Mandatory units.

- Understanding How a Retail Business Maintains Health and Safety on its Premises

- Understanding Customer Service in the Retail Sector

- Understanding how Individuals and Teams Contribute to the Effectiveness of a Retail Business

- Understanding the Retail Selling Process

And a choice from a wide range of optional units:

- Under-age Sales Prevention for Retail and Licensed Premises

- Understanding Retail Consumer Law

- Understanding How the Effectiveness of Store Operations Can be Improved

- Understanding Visual Merchandising for Retail

- Understanding Security and Loss Prevention in a Retail Business

- Understanding the Control, Receipt and Storage of Stock in a Retail Business

- Understand the Handling of Customer Payments in a Retail Business

- Understanding Environmental Sustainability in the Retail Sector

GCSE Maths and English Grade E.

You will be assessed against a set of knowledge statements by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification. A portfolio of evidence for knowledge-based coursework with consideration given to the needs and learning preferences of the learner as well as appropriate methods as outlined by the organisation.

Progression to a Level 3 qualification.

These qualifications are designed to provide the learner with retail knowledge related to the following:

- Working in a range of different types of retail outlets

- Working in a productive and effective manner

- Working effectively in teams

- Understanding retail outlet specific knowledge

- Improving of customer service

- Working in a safe manner

- Adhering to relevant legislation
