On completion of this Apprenticeship you will meet the statutory requirements for work as a Pharmacy Assistant within the Dispensing Pharmaceutical Industry. You will complete a knowledge based qualification - Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and a competence based qualification - Edexcel Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills. Candidates need to be working in a suitable Pharmacy role for at least 14 hrs per week. You will be required to complete the Pharmacy specific ERR workbook provided by Skills for Health. You will be required to complete Essential Skills Numeracy, if you do not have a GCSE Grade C or above in Maths.

Assessment for the BTEC Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science is assignment based. Grades are awarded on the achievement of specified learning outcomes. Assessment for the NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills takes place primarily in the workplace.
Successful completion of this Apprenticeship programme will meet the requirements for work as a Pharmacy Assistant and may progress to the Level 3 Apprenticeship.
