South West College is delighted to announce the upcoming AI in Education Conference 2025, an event dedicated to exploring the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of education. Taking place on Thursday 9 January 2025 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm at South West College’s Dungannon campus, the conference will bring together educational leaders, practitioners, and innovators to discuss AI’s expanding role in education and skill development.
The conference offers a unique platform for senior leaders, lecturers, SENCOs, safeguarding leads, support staff, and other educational professionals to connect, gain insights, and learn from leading experts on AI’s integration in education.
The AI in Education Conference 2025 will bring together a distinguished lineup of speakers, workshops, and interactive sessions. Attendees will have the chance to delve into real-world applications of AI, gain insights from expert-led discussions, and explore best practices for using AI responsibly in classrooms and educational organizations.
Keynote speakers include:
- Michael Callaghan from Ulster University, presenting “Practicalities of Redesigning an Undergraduate Module to Equip Students for AI-Supported Learning and Future Career Opportunities.”
- Sue Attewell from Jisc will address “AI – Where Are We Now and Where Are We Headed.”
- Phillip Alcock discusses “PBLxAI.”
- Shane McComb FCCT will explore “Guiding AI with Grace: Revolutionising Christian Education in Ireland.”
- Patrick Hickey will share his insights on “Supercharged Feedback: How I Transformed My Teaching and My Students’ Learning.”
Workshops on the day will feature:
- Darren Currie, leading a session on “Supercharged Feedback: Transforming Teaching and Student Learning.”
- Shannon Ahern will present “ChatGPT & Me – How ChatGPT Became My Dream TA.”
- Melanie Thompson from South West College will lead a workshop on “TeacherMatic and practical AI tools for classroom use.”
