South West College's Omagh campus recently hosted an enthusiastic group of potential future brickwork, joinery, and plumbing students from Holy Family Primary School. This engaging visit offered the young learners a unique, hands-on experience in the trades, sparking interest in the essential skills and practices that shape careers in the construction industry.

The students were given the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops led by experienced tutors, providing them with practical insights that complement their classroom studies and introduce them to potential career paths in the trades. From building with bricks to exploring joinery and plumbing work, these workshops highlighted the rewarding possibilities within construction and encouraged students to explore their interests further.

Speaking about the visit, Danielle McKelvey, Curriculum Manager said: "We were thrilled to welcome Holy Family Primary School to our campus and showcase the foundational skills of our brickwork, joinery, and plumbing trades. It’s inspiring to see young learners actively engaged, and we look forward to welcoming more schools who want to explore these essential careers."
