Professional Practice Days (PPD) are an integral part of any healthcare profession, and this invaluable experience starts at degree level. On Thursday 1st June, the BSc Social Work students at the Dungannon Campus had a visit from several external agencies/ individuals who work within the community, and who were able to highlight their services, the issues they face, the success that they have had, and to share techniques they use to support their individual service users.

The SWC group were able to gain knowledge on areas such as domestic violence and abuse, foster caring, and suicide awareness in both teenagers and adults. The day finished with a look at the positive and negatives of AI in Social work. Thank you to Women's Aid Causeway and Mid-Ulster, The Niamh Louise Foundation and the many other local individuals who shared their stories of Social Work, Fostering and Caring.
