Funding Support for Students
This course is aimed at people who are currently employed with a background in the construction sector. It will suit those looking to work as building contractors and tradespersons on high performance building envelopes as well as designers and consultants looking to learn the practical skills required of building to the Passive House standard. Skills Focus funding available towards course fees for eligible employers to up skill staff or for self employed students. Please ask for further details.
Passivhaus Tradesperson course fee is £485* and exam fee is £115, total cost £600**
The course is delivered in 4 days over 2 calendar weeks. The dates of delivery listed below may change prior to the course start date. Please complete your on-line application at this stage and we will keep in touch with you to confirm these details.
Department for Economy Skills Focus* funding is available towards the £485 *course fee for eligible employers.
From April 2024 this will reduce the course fee to £63 plus £115 exam fee.

Certified Passive House Tradespeople substantiate their sound basic knowledge of the construction of Passive Houses by passing an examination.
Knowledge of the construction trade and modern construction methods.
This course culminates in a 3 hour PHI externally set exam, which leads to Certified Tradesperson.
The course is delivered by qualified Passive House Designers and Trainers who have a range of construction industry experience. We have a wide range of facilities such as demonstration models of airtightness and MVHR units to demonstrate the practical aspects of the course and accredited materials and products for familiarization. We have licensed PHPP software and the SketchUp Designer plugin from the Passive House Institute for use during the course in the PHPP unit.
Please note it is not necessary to upload evidence of your qualifications for this course as there is no minimum entry criteria. The only entry criteria we ask for is that you have an interest in the actual course and knowledge of the building trade.
