Funding Support for Students
The one year course covers a wide range of areas relating to the skills and knowledge required for preparing to work in the Barbering Industry.
Students must achieve all mandatory units which include: Working in the Hair Industry, Follow Health and Safety Practice in the Salon, Client Consultation for Hair Services, Shampoo and Condition the Hair and Scalp. In addition to completing mandatory units, students are required to achieve fifteen credits from optional units Cut Men’s Hair, Cut Facial Hair, Style Men’s Hair.
Students must have a current Level 2 Certificate/Diploma NVQ Diploma in Barbering or equivalent qualification.
A combination of practical observations and on-line theory tests are used to assess this qualification.
Achievement of this qualification provides opportunities to progress to further qualifications at Level 3. This qualification offers employment opportunities for students demonstrating occupational competence.
This course is delivered in one year.
Students will be required to purchase a uniform and kit upon commencement of the programme.
