Participants of the Youthscape programme at South West College (SWC) will be putting themselves in the shoes of homeless people by participating in a 12-hour sit-out at the Omagh Campus, this Thursday 20th September from 10am-10pm.
As part of the programme’s Social Impact module, the team aim to raise awareness of hidden homelessness, also known as ‘sofa surfing’ among young people and also to signpost those in need to appropriate support groups. The Youthscape participants will also be accepting donations for Action for Children Northern Ireland, a charity which helps to tackle the growing crisis of youth homelessness.
Youthscape programme is funded by SEUPB, under the PEACE IV Objective 2.1 Children and Young People.
If you or someone you know is affected by homelessness, please get in touch with Action for Children Northern Ireland, phone 028 9046 0500 (open 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday).
