South West College (SWC) is proud to announce the successful recertification of both Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus, reaffirming the College’s ongoing commitment to cyber security excellence.

These UK Government-backed certifications validate the College’s adherence to essential security controls and recognised best practices. In an era of increasing and persistent cyber threats, this achievement reflects SWCs proactive approach to protecting digital infrastructure, safeguarding sensitive data, and ensuring operational resilience in support of a secure and trusted educational environment.

Each year, the College undergoes a rigorous assessment of its systems and procedures to ensure robust protection against the most common and impactful cyber threats. This dual recertification confirms that SWC’s digital infrastructure, from core IT systems to procedural controls, continues to meet the highest standards of cyber security.

Paul Wade, Head of IT Services at South West College, commented:
“Being recertified in both Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus reflects our ongoing vigilance in managing cyber risk. As digital threats continue to evolve, we remain fully committed to staying one step ahead, safeguarding our data and ensuring a secure digital environment for our students, staff, and the wider college community.”
