  • Youthscape – a Peace IV programme helping young people through unpredicted challenges

    Youthscape launched in 2018 as a programme to empower 14-24 year olds who are most marginalised in Fermanagh, Tyrone and Donegal.     The programme was awarded almost €4 million of EU Peace IV funding under the Children and Young People’s strand by the Special EU Programmes Body.  With this funding, South West College, Donegal Youth Service and TIDES Training and Mediation pooled their resources and specialist knowledge to design and create a programme that has seen 635 young people completing so far.

  • Lyons - ‘Skill Up’ to kick-start your career prospects

    South West College will unite with further education colleges and universities across Northern Ireland to deliver approximately 15,000 free training places in over 250 subject areas for qualifications ranging from Level 2 right up to post-graduation. The £23 million Skill Up investment programme, supported by the Northern Ireland Office, is a new initiative established to help re-train and re-skill individuals affected by the pandemic.

  • SWC's Renewable Engine Programme shortlisted for Prestigious Green Gown Research Award

    Awards recognise Excellence in Sustainability during Extraordinary Times   Renewable Engine, a €6.1M EU INTERREG VA funded cross-border Research and Innovation programme, led by South West College has been announced as a finalist at this year’s UK and Ireland Green Gown Awards. The College is the only further education college on the island of Ireland to make the shortlist and will compete with institutions including Lancaster University, London College of Fashion and University of Portsmouth for the Research with Impact – Institution prize.
