South West College is excited to offer young people aged 14+ the opportunity to explore Construction with a hands on Taster Session event at the SWC campuses in Dungannon on Friday 12 April, Enniskillen Skills Centre on Friday 19 April, and Omagh on Friday 26 April. The events will run from 9.30am to 2.30pm and booking is essential.

For those curious or interested in pursuing a career in this area, the free Construction and Built Environment taster days offer a unique chance to explore the world of construction, develop your problem-solving skills, and get hands-on experience using digital technology in the field. During the session, young people will have the opportunity to use industry standard software such as google sketch up, drone technology and work with thermal imaging and digital surveying equipment. Lunch will be provided, free of charge.

“The one-day camps are designed to provide young people with the chance to explore various career paths, particularly within the rapidly growing sector of Construction and Civil Engineering. It offers an exciting opportunity for school children to get hands on experience and find out more about the exciting career paths available.

With a growing number of females entering the sector, these interactive sessions will allow participants both male and female to ask questions and get interactive with industry standard software helping young people discover and experience what it is like studying and working in one of the fastest growing sectors.”
