South West College held a ‘Jungle Challenge’ at each campus Open Day, in conjunction with Jungle NI outside Moneymore. The aim of the challenge was to complete an eating task which consisted of 3 courses, starter was jelly buffalo worms and meal worms, main course consisted of a cracker crickets and dessert was to eat an entire grasshopper. Anyone who ate all three courses was entered in a draw to win a pass for two at the Treetops challenge and pass for two for the Zombie run at the Jungle NI.
Members of the South West College marketing team and Hugh from The Jungle NI hosted the competition. They encouraged students to complete challenge, the students soon got competitive amongst their friends and there was over 200 participants between all the campuses. Each participant received a SWC Jungle challenge t-shirt and those ate all courses was entered into the prize draw.
Hugh McCloy, Jungle NI representative said “We had a fantastic opportunity to team up with SWC to promote their open days to prospective students, education is about challenges and The Jungle can provide a challenge like no other. Congratulations to the winner. SWC have shown an innovative way of engaging with their students and we look forward to working closer with SWC for activity days and residential stays in the future.”
Lauren Mullaney was pulled out at random as our winner of the Treetops challenge and Dylan Rodgers was runner up and received a pass for two people for the zombie run. We want to thank the Jungle NI, for their support in this competition and their kind donation of the vouchers for both the winner and runner up.
