Malachy O’Hanlon, a second year BTEC Creative Media student at Dungannon Campus, picked up 2nd place in the Photography section at the recent Inter Colleges Media Competition, hosted by North West Regional College (NWRC).
The awards ceremony, held in the Guildhall in Derry-Londonderry, featured entries from all six of Northern Ireland’s Further and Higher Education Colleges in a range of disciplines including Photography, Ad Production and Moving Image.
The event was compered by BBC presenter, Stephen McCauley and the judges included Mal McCann (Irish News), Eavan King (British Film Institute), Vinny Cunningham (Northland Films) and Fionnuala Deane (Dog Ears Animation). Special guests included Mayor of Derry and Strabane District Council, John Boyle and film-makers Louise Gallagher and Shelly Love.
