As young people across the province prepare to take the next step in their academic journey with the arrival of their GCSE results, South West College is encouraging talented and ambitious young people to explore the range of study opportunities available at their local Further Education College.

South West College understand that transitioning from school to college can be a significant step. They provide robust support services to help students adapt and thrive. From career guidance and counselling to learning support and financial advice, their dedicated team is there to ensure every student reaches their full potential.

South West College Principal and Chief Executive Celine McCartan explains

“Deciding on the next step after leaving school can be a daunting and anxious time and young people and parents don’t always know what career courses or learning opportunities are available to them. It is vital that young people wishing to obtain qualifications are aware of the range of options available to help them make better, informed choices and I would encourage them to look at the provision that’s on offer here.

For anyone considering studying with us, visit your nearest campus Registration Day where our careers team and tutors will be available to help you make informed decisions about your future.

Some people may have performed under their expectations, while others may be unsure about which route to take. The important thing is not to panic. Our team of expert career advisors can talk young people through their individual situations, enabling them to see for themselves what options are available to them.”

To help school leavers make informed decisions about their next steps, South West College will be hosting a series of Registration across their campuses. The events will offer prospective students and their families the chance to meet lecturers and learn more about the courses on offer. The advice is designed to help young people and their parents understand the range of career opportunities and pathways available to them, helping them to make better, informed choices.

Once you get your exam results on 22 August, visit one of your local South West College campuses at Dungannon, Enniskillen, or Omagh. Careers advisors and tutors will be available throughout the day to discuss the wide range of options on offer. Please bring all exam results and photographic ID.
