Step 4 The Intermediate class will take place from September until June and concentrates on Speaking/Listening, while also developing some reading/writing skills. Students will achieve the OCNNI Level 2 Award in Speaking/Listening. Assessment is a key component of this course: Ongoing assessment in speaking and listening leading to 6 credits at OCNNI Level 2
Students should have completed step 3 (Level 1- pre-intermediate) or be at the same level.
Students can progress to GCSE, which runs for the whole academic year.
This qualification is practical and encourages students to learn skills needed to enjoy holidays and routine situations in the country of the target language. You learn the appropriate vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation at each of the levels, as well as some grammar. Topics that are covered are similar to previous course but more elaborate and extensive: Home, Family and Friends–social arrangements; House/ Area where you live; Shopping; Food and Drink, Eating Out Work and Continuing Education; Accommodation bookings and complaints Tourist information Health and welfare (complaints) Hobbies and Interests Personal reactions and opinions
