Learning Pathways and Progression

SWC provides various pathways to equip students with essential life and employability skills.

Discrete SEN Programmes:

OCR Entry Level Diploma in Life and Living Skills (Entry 2 & 3): Focused on personal growth, independence, and community enrichment.

NOCN Level 1 Diploma in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development: A two-year programme to build workplace confidence and generic employability skills.

Part-Time Options: Including the Bright Sparks Social Enterprise Programme and City & Guilds Entry Level courses.

Future Opportunities: Students can progress to foundation programmes, vocational pathways (such as Business or Engineering), higher-level courses, or employment.

Transition and Campus Accessibility

We strive to make our campuses at Enniskillen, Omagh, Dungannon, and Cookstown as accessible as possible. This includes physical accessibility (lifts, step-free access, and quiet spaces) as well as inclusive teaching methods.

Important Considerations for Transition:

Early Discussion: Students with complex medical or personal care needs are encouraged to contact the Student Engagement and Support Manager early to assess available support.

Support Boundaries: While SWC provides significant support, it cannot offer the same level of intensive facility as a special educational setting. The college does not provide personal care (e.g., toileting/feeding), medical supervision, or one-to-one carers; these must be arranged through external agencies like the Health and Social Care Trust.
