SWC Student Roisin Donegan Recognised in Prestigious NI Travel Student of the Year Awards 25 Sept 2025 Roisin Donegan, a student at South West College, Enniskillen, currently studying the Ulster University Foundation Degree in Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management (with Specialisms), has been recognised for her outstanding performance in the 2025 Travel Student of the Year Assessments, held at the Northern Ireland Travel News Headquarters in Holywood. Roisin was one of only four outstanding finalists chosen from across Northern Ireland following a competitive voting process. Her in-depth industry knowledge, professionalism, and clear passion for travel earned her a framed certificate of achievement at this prestigious annual event, hosted by NI Travel News to celebrate excellence in the travel and tourism sector. Her tutor at South West College, Siobhan Hallawell, praised Roisin’s dedication and success: “This is a well-deserved recognition for Roisin. She has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to her studies, an in-depth understanding of the travel and tourism industry, and a real passion for her future career. We at South West College are incredibly proud of her achievement.” The other finalists in this year’s competition were Tyler Murray from Belfast Metropolitan College (who was named the overall winner), Celine Hutton from North West Regional College, and Daryl Hannan Steele from Southern Regional College. Northern Ireland Travel News’ Editor Kirsty Johnston praised the travel industry judges who once again gave up their valuable time and expertise to carry out the assessments: “The team at Northern Ireland Travel News would like to say a huge thank you to both Brenda Morgan MBE and Sandra Corkin, who spent the morning sharing their invaluable industry skills and knowledge with the students,” she said. “All four finalists are an absolute credit to their tutors and educational institutions. They all demonstrated a passion for travel, tourism and hospitality and I am confident they will all go far in their chosen career paths. “It is great to see some new faces coming into the travel industry with such a varied and fresh approach to growing both the travel industry and tourism sectors,” she added.
