South West College Art & Design Students Launch Exhibition at Strule Arts Centre 12 May 2025 South West College Level 3 Art & Design students recently launched their exhibition “Exploring Identity Through Culture & Tradition” at Strule Arts Centre, Omagh. The exhibition running from 7–24 May, offers the public a unique opportunity to explore fresh, innovative artwork across a variety of mediums. Curated by Level 3 Art & Design students from Omagh, this year’s theme invites viewers to reflect on the personal, cultural, and societal influences that shape identity, with each piece telling its own compelling story through a diverse array of artistic disciplines. From striking paintings and intricate textiles to thought-provoking installations, visitors can expect an engaging and visually stunning experience. The SWC Art team, praised the students’ efforts and encouraged the public to come along and support. Speaking at the event, SWC Art Lecturer Helen McFarland said: “Our annual end-of-year exhibition is a vibrant celebration of our students’ creativity, dedication and self-expression. Every piece showcases the unique voice of its artist, and it’s been a privilege to support them on their journey. I’m thrilled for the public to experience the depth of talent on display, and I have no doubt these young artists have an exciting future ahead. “Many of our students will now progress to foundation degree-level study, while others will move straight into employment within the arts and wider creative industries.
