Natasha Foster from Enniskillen got her career off to a flying start by studying a Foundation Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management at South West College, which has provided her with a first-class route to a vibrant career as a Cabin Crew member with leading travel brand TUI.
Natasha was born to explore, and in pursuit of an exciting and adventurous career, she enrolled on a Level 3 BTEC in Travel and Tourism at South West College. Natasha excelled within her studies and advanced into Higher Education, studying a foundation degree in Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management with Specialisms at the South West College Enniskillen campus.
The course covered all the key aspects of hospitality, tourism and event management which provided Natasha with career insight, alongside the essential skills and industry knowledge to further her studies via a one-year Top-up degree at Ulster University. As a result, Natasha benefitted from her degree both personally and professionally and was now work-ready with access to a vast range of exciting careers within the travel and tourism industry.
Natasha started her career overseas as a TUI Holiday Representative, where she relished the opportunity to travel whilst getting paid. However, for Natasha, ‘the sky’s the limit’, and her flying career didn’t stop there as she successfully landed her dream role as a Cabin Crew member at one of the world’s largest tourism businesses, TUI.
Natasha was overjoyed and flourished within her role, which involves travelling the world whilst maintaining the safety and comfort of passengers. She says: “The most rewarding part is making people’s holidays memorable. If you love travelling, seeing new places, and are happy to work in an environment which is the furthest from a 9-5 job, it’s a fun industry to be part of.”
For Hospitality and Tourism aspirants, Natasha encourages them to look beyond and have confidence in the industry as she believes it will rebuild. She said: “Travel is becoming more and more popular with new flight routes added and aircrafts constantly growing, which will provide a vast range of exciting career opportunities.”
Natasha would recommend studying at South West College and is filled with gratitude. She feels lecturing staff provided her with instrumental support and certifications that allowed her to fulfil her career ambitions.
