On Wednesday 9 March, a congregation of more than 500 people came together between two venues at the Strule Arts Centre and the Colleges Omagh Campus, to celebrate the Higher Education successes of South West College (SWC) students. Joined together with family, friends and tutors, the ceremony celebrated the efforts and academic achievements of the ‘Class of 2021’.

The congregation was split across several sites, with a live stream into breakout rooms where proud family and friends were once again glad to able to be close to their loved ones to celebrate the special day together.

The event recognised the hard work and dedication of hundreds of full and part-time students.

“Graduation marks an important day in the lives of the hundreds of Higher Education students who have completed their course and I encourage them to never stop learning. The annual Graduation Celebration is a highlight in the College calendar; it showcases students’ achievements at Higher Education level in a variety of programme areas.”

Open University BSc (Hons) Construction Engineering & Management Graduate Francis McKenna made the inspirational and emotional closing address, thanking SWC staff, fellow graduates’ and his family for their support.
