South West College is excited to announce "Where Sport and Science Collide: Exploring the Boundaries of Human Performance," a groundbreaking event that will bring together leading experts, athletes, researchers, and enthusiasts from the worlds of sports and science.

Taking place at South West College's Omagh Campus on 17 September 2024 from 10:30am-1:30pm the event promises to be a must-attend for anyone interested in how STEM subjects are used in sport and in the future of sports science, athletic innovation, sports engineering and performance analysis.

The event will feature a lineup of guest speakers, including Olympic medallists, exhibitions, course information, and immersive experiences designed to inspire and educate. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to hear from leading experts in the field:

  • Olly Logan – Director of Logan Performance Consulting and Head of Biomechanics Innovation and Performance Analysis at AquaticsGB. Olly will share how STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) impacted on athlete performance at the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • Joe Turley – Co-founder of Performa Sports, a leading platform in sports performance analysis. Joe will discuss the role of data and technology in optimizing athlete performance.
  • Jack McMillan – Olympic Gold Medallist in Swimming at Paris 2024. Jack will provide a first-hand account of what it takes to reach the pinnacle of athletic achievement, and how science plays a crucial role in training and competition.
