South West College (SWC) is now enrolling on a wide range of free short-term Skill Up courses for individuals looking to upskill or change careers. Most of the courses will be delivered online and will provide an opportunity to re-skill and upskill into areas where job growth is expected to be high.
The accredited courses range from Level 2 and above and are available at SWC in a diverse range of subject areas, including computing, creative, digital, engineering, Passive House, manufacturing, construction, health and social care, management skills and many more.
Each course offering will be accessible to all groups, those in employment and unemployment and is now open for applications.
If you’re aged 18 and over and eligible to work in Northern Ireland, this range of free accredited courses is available to help boost your career and employability prospects through SKILL UP – the flexible skills programme.
The Department for the Economy is supporting the delivery of these free short courses, which was established to help re-train and reskill individuals to meet the needs of the Economy as we emerge from the pandemic and continue to grow the Economy beyond it.
The fund is aligned with the Northern Ireland Skills Strategy and will provide learning opportunities reflecting the key objectives outlined within the strategy. It will serve to boost participation in lifelong learning and reduce key skills imbalances in areas such as digital, leadership and healthcare and is being delivered by local further and higher education providers.
These courses are a great opportunity for individuals to retrain in a new area or refresh their skills.
