South West College (SWC) is launching three fully funded Higher Education Scholarships for full-time study, open to applications from pupils at local feeder schools.
The Chief Executive Scholarships are part of SWC’s commitment to widening access and participation in Higher Education. The Scholarships are awarded in the form of a fee waiver for full-time tuition fees for three years, and are available for courses in Computing, Visual Media Arts and Corporate Law and Finance. The deadline for applications is Friday 13th August 2021. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview as part of the selection process.
Chief Executive Scholarships are related to specific courses delivered in SWC. A scholarship to the value of £9,730 over three years is available for the Ulster University Foundation Degree in Science in Computing and The Open University BSc (Hons) Top-up in Computing Science (Dungannon Campus). A scholarship to the value of £9,730 is available for the Open University Foundation Degree in Visual Media Arts and The Open University BA (Hons) Top-up in Visual Media Arts (Film/Games) (Enniskillen Campus). A scholarship to the value of £13,590 is available for the Open University BSc (Hons) in Corporate Law and Finance (Omagh Campus).
To mark the opening of the SWC Erne campus which is located in the Devenish electoral ward, SWC is also delighted to offer a fully funded Higher Education Scholarship to three successful applicants who reside within a Devenish ward postcode. These Scholarships are related to either a full-time two-year Foundation Degree programme, plus a one-year full-time Bachelor of Honours Degree top-up, offered internally at South West College (and subject to availability) with a total tuition fee value of between £9,730; or the full-time three-year Open University BSc (Hons) in Corporate Law and Finance (Omagh Campus), with a total tuition fee value of £13,590; or students who possess a relevant HND or Foundation Degree may apply for a full-time one-year Honours Degree top-up, with a total tuition fee value of £4,530.
Criteria
Applicants must achieve grades of no less than 3 Bs at A Level, or equivalent grades for BTEC / OCR Cambridge Technical qualifications (applicants who attain higher grades will be ranked higher in the application process). Applicants must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs that include English and Maths at grade C. Original evidence of grades must be provided. Applicants must also provide evidence of full-time residence in a Quintile 1 post code address. Applicants applying for the Devenish electoral ward scholarship must provide evidence of full-time residence in a Quintile 1 or 2 post code address. All applicants, as part of the application process, must also submit a 500-word statement detailing why they feel they should receive the Chief Executive’s Scholarship Award, their reasons for studying the relevant course and their career ambitions.

Completed applications must then be returned to Breidge Morrison with the required evidence by 13th August 2021. Applications received after this date will not be considered. Successful applicants for each scholarship will be notified in writing by 23th August 2021.
