Funding Support for Students
Learn how to design, install, test, and commission domestic heat pump systems. Starting from an introduction to basic fundamentals and principles of heat pump operation this unit will guide learners through the fascinating world of heat pump technology, domestic heat pump system design, installation, testing, commissioning and existing industry installation standards.
This course is predominantly delivered online though TEAMS and students will have access to all learning and assessment materials through the College’s online CANVAS platform. Students can then apply their study around existing work and / or personal commitments.
Live 1.5-hour online lectures will be delivered over an 12-week period every Thursday evening from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Students will attend the College for one practical day to complete a task to design a domestic heat pump system. The date for the practical activity will towards the end of the unit and exact date(s) will be confirmed at course induction.
An interest in Sustainable Construction
The course is assessed entirely through a portfolio of evidence, including written work, design tasks, and practical demonstrations.
Students may progress onto further study at South West College in one of our many Construction and the Built Environment courses. Please check the college website for courses at Further and Higher Education level and their entry requirements.
