Overview

The overarching aim of the BSc (Hons) Construction Engineering & Management programme is to produce high calibre graduates who shall have obtained the relevant competencies to undertake roles within one of the many disciplines of construction engineering and construction management. The programme has been developed to produce professional and competent construction managers and engineers equipped with industry relevant technical and managerial skills. Skills Focus funding available towards course fees for eligible employers to up skill staff or for self employed students. Please ask for further details.

Entry to the BSc Honours Top-Up programme requires applicants to have successfully completed a Foundation Degree (or other relevant Level 5 qualification such as a Higher National Diploma) in a Construction related discipline, qualifications deemed equivalent, or by the college’s policy relating to APL. Students must also hold GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 4 (grade C) or above. (Level 2 literacy and numeracy qualifications are also accepted).

Candidates presenting with an ordinary degree (bachelor's without honours) in this subject area, and who wish to top up to a full honours degree (bachelor's with honours), may be considered under Recognition of Prior Learning RPL procedures.

Course International Entry Requirements:

Any applicant whose first language is not English or who has not achieved a grade C in a recent GCSE in English Language should demonstrate their competence in written and spoken English at IELTS – Academic 6.0, with minimum 5.5 in all four elements of the test.

Assessment of core modules will be by a combination of Course Work, Professional Report(s), Presentation(s) and Examinations.

*The minimum overall pass mark of 40% is required to be achieved in all modules.

Upon successful completion of the BSc Hons in Construction Engineering & Management programme graduates may consider entering into employment within the construction industry or continuing to study by applying for a place on a post-graduate programme i.e. MSc.

Tuition Fees:

2024/25 fees

£4,750 full time

£310 per 20 credit module

£620 for 40-credit Work Based Learning Module

Students do not pay course fees as a Higher Level Apprentice as the programme of study is funded by the Department for Economy.

To be eligible to commence study on the HLA pathway, applicants must have secured full-time paid employment in a Construction Engineering and Management role.


International student fees £9,500 p.a.

During your course you may be required to purchase course textbooks and incur additional costs for printing, photocopying and binding. The overall costs incurred to support your studies may be in the region of £100 per year.
