Early years and pre-school educators from across Counties Tyrone and Fermanagh gathered at the South West College (SWC) in Enniskillen for an early years conference aimed at addressing current issues in early years education. The conference was also attended by staff and students from a range of childcare and early years programmes at the college.

South West College received 3 awards at the 16th Annual Plaisterers’ Training Awards, held at the Plaisterers’ Hall in the City of London on Tuesday 4th November. The awards recognise the highest standards of achievement in training and education within the UK plastering trade.

South West College, Omagh Campus will host an NI BIM Technology and Design Showcase on Wednesday 19th November. This free event will comprise of a host of demonstrations, workshops and guest talks relating to the latest technologies and design procedures. The event has been organised by NI BIM Hub in partnership with South West College and Ulster University, due to the rapid increase in industry demand for BIM technology advice and guidance.

Staff and students at South West College flocked to the college’s restaurants on 26th September for coffee and cakes, all in aid of Macmillan’s World’s Largest Coffee Morning, its flagship national fundraising event. The event raised £1200.00, which will be used to provide invaluable cancer support services across the local area of Tyrone and Fermanagh.

The Long Gallery, Parliament Buildings was the venue for this week’s special event to showcase the role of the six regional Further Education (FE) Colleges in widening participation to Higher Education. The event, sponsored by the Committee for Employment and Learning, was attended by key stakeholders including business and trade union representatives, MLAs, as well as staff and students from the six regional Further Education Colleges.
