For Teresa O’Neill, studying at South West College was about much more than gaining qualification, it was about building confidence, developing new skills, and discovering her potential.
Based at the Dungannon campus, Teresa completed the Level 2 and Level 3 OCN NI Diploma in Business Administration Skills. She says the supportive environment at SWC played a major role in both her academic and personal development.
“At the time, I wasn’t in the best place mentally and honestly wasn’t planning on pushing myself very far. But being at SWC helped me grow my confidence, step outside my comfort zone, and develop skills I didn’t think I was capable of.”
During her time at college, Teresa made a significant contribution to student life and was proud to receive the David Shakels Memorial Cup for outstanding contribution to student life.
Now working at Lloyds Banking Group, Teresa uses the organisational, administration, and communication skills she developed during her course every day in her customer service role.
She credits SWC not only with helping her gain employment, but also with giving her the confidence to continue growing professionally and personally.
“One of the biggest challenges I faced was believing in myself,” Teresa explains. “With the support and encouragement from South West College, I gradually pushed myself outside my comfort zone, became more confident, and achieved things I never thought I would.”
Looking ahead, Teresa hopes to continue building on the skills she learned at SWC and grow even more confident in her career with Lloyds Banking Group.
