South West College’s Erne Campus recently welcomed staff, students, family, and friends to its annual Art, Design and Media End-of-Year Show, which was officially launched by award-winning visual artist Mary Theresa Keown, with support from Ken Ramsey of Erne Art & Craft Store.

At the event, attendees enjoyed a diverse and thought-provoking display of work from students on the Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media Practice and the Extended Diploma in Art and Design Practice. The showcase exhibition featured an impressive variety of creative outputs, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, video, model making, textiles, graphics, and digital illustration.

In addition, a Visual Media showcase presented by Level 3 Film and Game Design students highlighted a range of standout projects, from original documentaries and music videos to immersive environment art and interactive game demos.

Patricia Fox, SWC Lecturer, commented:

"Together, the exhibitions showcased the exceptional talent and creative diversity nurtured within South West College. Exploring a wide range of contemporary themes and personal narratives, students demonstrated not only technical skill but also originality, critical thinking and expressive depth.

Throughout the year, these artists and designers have grown tremendously, acquiring new skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of their practice. Their dedication, creativity and perseverance are evident in every piece of work on display."

Daniel Coleman, SWC Lecturer, added:

"The Creative Industries department was proud to present the outstanding work of our students. The End-of-Year Show was a fantastic success, celebrating their achievements and offering the public an opportunity to witness first-hand the abundance of talent that thrives within our college.

A special thanks goes to visual artist Mary Theresa Keown and Ken Ramsey of Erne Art & Craft Store for their support."
